The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is one of the most versatile vans on the market. We only use the L2H2 size, as it offers an ideal mix of space and agility. However, we are often asked if we also have other sizes. In this article, we explain why L2H2 is the best choice for us and give a brief overview of other variants for orientation.
Our choice: Sprinter L2H2
The size L2H2 offers an optimal combination of storage space and handling. It is large enough to be converted into a campervan, but remains agile enough for city traffic.
L2H2 Sprinter dimensions:
Length: approx. 5.93 m
Altitude: approx. 2.62 m
wheelbase: 3.66 m
Cargo space length: approx. 3.27 m
Loading space height: approx. 1.94 m
Payload: Variable depending on model and engine
These dimensions provide enough space for various expansions without making the vehicle too cumbersome.
Other Sprinter sizes — A quick overview
Even though we're on L2H2 Specialized, the Sprinter is available in various lengths (L) and heights (H). Here is a brief overview:
L1H1 (compact, low roof height): Very agile but limited storage space.
L3H2 (long version, medium height): More cargo space, but remains easy to drive.
L3H3 (long version, high roof height): Perfect for bulky loads
L4H3 (extra long version, high roof height): The largest variant for maximum transport capacity.
We consciously rely on L2H2because it meets most of our clients' requirements. If special sizes are required, we recommend that you find out more about the advantages and disadvantages of the various variants.
Other features of our sprinters
Difference in height between four-wheel and non-four-wheel drive
An important point is the difference in height between a four-wheel drive Sprinter and a standard Sprinter.
Standard Sprinter (non-all-wheel drive): height approx. 2.62 m (L2H2)
Sprinter with all-wheel drive: height approx. 2.75 m (L2H2)
The all-wheel drive gives the vehicle more ground clearance, which is particularly advantageous for off-road use. However, it must also be noted that this changes the entrance height, which can play a role in parking garages or low halls. In addition to size, engines and transmissions also play a role. Here are a few technical highlights of our sprinters:
1st Sprinter 319 CDI
A powerful 3.0-liter V4 diesel engine for heavy loads and trailer operation.
2. Sprinter 419 CDI — The difference to 319 CDI
The Sprinter 419 CDI is based on the same engine as the 319 CDI, but is designed for a higher total payload. While the 319 CDI is usually offered with a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 tons, the 419 CDI can be loaded up to 4.1 tons. This makes the 419 CDI particularly suitable for commercial applications with heavy loads
3rd Sprinter with 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission
A modern 9-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifting and lower fuel consumption.

Our L2H2 sprinters are the perfect choice for versatile camping setups. They offer enough storage space and at the same time remain flexible in road traffic. If you have any questions about our vehicles or other sprinter sizes, feel free to contact us!
